APRIL 1 — And More Importantly, What Makes You Smile?
This Month’s Message: Prayer For The Month Of Promise
Lord, One poet has called this The cruelest month Because with spring there is birth, And with birth there’s pain. But I don’t think there really is A cruel month in Your kingdom. I’m not a poet, Lord, But I love April Because it makes a promise And then delivers. The promise is the first warm whiff Of Your good earth. The gift is the profusion Of blooms that make my drab world sing. A gift so fresh and new Each year that it seems As if it were being given For the first time.
Today’s passage: “Laugh, and the world laughs with you.” —Ella Wheeler Wilcox
Today’s prayer: “Father, when I play a joke, guide me to do it with the gentlest of good humor. When I am the object of a joke, let me increase its fun with my own laughter.”
