O Father God,
Silent are Your woods now
Where the snow lies deep.
The days are rimed with frost,
The nights are long.
The world’s asleep, dreaming of sunshine,
Waiting for spring to come
With its warm green kiss
That wakens everything.
Sometimes my soul seems like the woods,
Silent, motionless and chill,
Waiting for a signal,
Unable to make it happen,
But knowing it will come.
Speak to my waiting soul, Lord,
Call me into the warmth of Your presence,
And Your love.
